The Seattle Seahawks have their new head coach.
Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald has been employed as Pete Carroll’s successor, reportedly agreeing to a six-year deal that may make him the NFL’s youngest head coach at 36 years previous. Macdonald drew loads of reward for returning Baltimore’s protection to elite standing after they dipped to twenty eighth by DVOA in 2021. In two seasons as DC, the Ravens ranked eighth by DVOA in 2022 after which primary in 2023. The Ravens protection had the fewest factors allowed, most sacks, and most takeaways.
Seattle has… not had good defenses these days, so there may be large optimism that Macdonald can do for the Seahawks what he did for the Ravens.
In fact, earlier than Macdonald can get to work on rebuilding the protection, he has to construct his first teaching workers. That is the spot for all the data on each the Seahawks’ 2024 teaching workers and the futures of the 2023 workers. Whereas it’s doable that some coaches from Pete Carroll’s workers shall be retained beneath Macdonald, it’s very probably that we’ll see model new faces at each place.
