UFC Vegas 51 went down inside UFC Apex final night time (Sat., April 16, 2022) in Las Vegas, Nevada that includes a Middleweight bout that noticed Belal Muhammad defeat Vicente Luque by way of unanimous resolution (recap). In additional motion, Drakkar Klose stopped Brandon Jenkins with a vicious technical knockout, whereas Andre Fialho additionally did the identical to Miguel Baeza (see it).
Winner: Belal Muhammad
Who He Ought to Face Subsequent: Gilbert Burns
Muhammad picked up his third straight win, seven of eight general, after shutting down Luque after 25 minutes of grueling motion. With the win, Muhammad can anticipate to leap into the High 5. He did call for a fight towards Colby Covington, however that gained’t be occurring since Dana White is eyeing “Chaos” vs Khamzat Chimaev, who lately defeated Gilbert Burns at UFC 273. Talking of Burns, that’s who Muhammad ought to anticipate to face subsequent. Regardless of developing brief towards “Borz,” Burns continues to be ranked No. 4, and is the one man within the High 5 with no combat dance accomplice lined up. If “Keep in mind The Title” can defeat Burns, a title shot is subsequent.
Winner: Caio Borralho
Who He Ought to Face Subsequent: Anthony Hernandez
Whereas the win didn’t come with out controversy (read about it here), a win is a win for Borralho, who upped his win streak to seven straight after handing Gadzhi Omargadzhiev his first-ever loss. A combat towards Hernandez appears logical as a result of he simply competed at UFC 273, defeating Josh Fremd by way of unanimous resolution. Hernandez is 5 fights deep into his UFC profession, racking up a 3-2 file. Each males are 12 fights deep into their UFC careers, so it’s not like one has extra expertise than the opposite. Ebook it.
Winner: Andre Fialho
Who He Ought to Battle Subsequent: Mounir Lazzez
Fialho picked up his first UFC win in spectacular vogue by knocking out Miguel Baeza fairly violently within the very first spherical. Up subsequent for the Portuguese-born fighter needs to be a combat towards Lazzez, who additionally picked up an enormous win on the primary card over UFC newcomer Ange Loosa. Each males have the potential to be contenders within the Welterweight division, this combat will tell us who will get to take a giant step towards the High 15, which is loaded with killers throughout the board. This has a bang-fest written throughout it.
Winner: Mayra Bueno Silva
Who She Ought to Face Subsequent: Karol Rosa
Silva bought again on the profitable observe to place her UFC file at 3-2-1, which suggests she hasn’t been very constant on the subject of wins. I’d prefer to see her tackle Rosa, who’s coming off a tricky loss towards Sara McMann a couple of weeks in the past, snapping her six-fight win streak within the course of. Each girls try their finest to crack the High 15, and whereas it’s nonetheless a tricky highway there for each of them, any victory alongside the way in which helps.
Winner: Pat Sabatini
Who He Ought to Face Subsequent: Jonathan Pearce
Sabatini picked up his sixth straight win — fourth contained in the Octagon — after he defeated T.J. Laramie by way of unanimous resolution the previous Cage Fury FC Featherweight champion has been on fireplace as of late and is making nice strides towards a spot within the rankings. He’s nonetheless a couple of extra wins away from getting there, but when he can defeat Pearce it might be an enormous step. Pearce is at the moment on a three-fight win streak and is 8-1 over his final 9 fights. His lone loss got here by the hands of longtime UFC veteran, Joe Lauzon.
