The Chicago White Sox introduced on Saturday afternoon that supervisor Tony La Russa won’t be returning to the dugout this season and won’t handle the staff for the rest of the season.
Bench coach Miguel Cairo will proceed to function interim supervisor in La Russa’s absence.
The choice was made after La Russa underwent further assessments and medical procedures over the previous week.
