CHICAGO – College of Chicago ladies’s tennis participant Sylwia Mikos earned Athlete of the Week accolades from the College Athletic Affiliation (UAA) on Monday.
Mikos obtained the UAA weekly honor for the fourth time this season. The Maroon rookie helped lead UChicago to its first-ever ITA Division III Nationwide Staff Indoor Championship title over the weekend. The Maroons defeated MIT 6-3, Pomona-Pitzer 5-4 and Emory College 5-4 on consecutive days.
Mikos went an ideal 3-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-1 at No. 1 doubles. She bested the No. 1-ranked participant within the nation from Emory by scores of 6-2, 6-3. Her singles document now stands at 16-4 in singles and 18-3 in doubles.
