Seahawks right tackle Abe Lucas could return soon, says Pete Carroll

The Seattle Seahawks’ projected beginning offensive line has solely performed half-hour of soccer collectively all season, which has been an element within the workforce’s struggles. At this level, followers will take any excellent news they’ll get, and there’s a doubtlessly massive growth within the well being of proper sort out Abe Lucas.

Pete Carroll informed media on Monday that Lucas is in line to return to apply subsequent week. There’s an opportunity we might see Lucas apply this week, however it’s almost certainly that the next week would be the place to begin for Lucas to finally get again into sport motion once more.

Lucas has been on IR for the reason that finish of Week 1 with a knee problem. Carroll stated that Lucas acquired an injection just lately, as he’d been dealing with discomfort. If Lucas is activated from IR with a return to apply designation, there shall be a 21-day window to maneuver him to the lively roster.

Ought to Lucas return, it will lastly make the Seahawks’ closely injured offensive line complete once more. Charles Cross, Damien Lewis, Evan Brown, and Phil Haynes have all missed at the very least one sport to harm, and Lucas hasn’t even had a full-time substitute at proper sort out. Jake Curhan stuffed in for him however that turned bothersome (and he acquired injured, too), and over the previous two weeks the Seahawks have alternated sequence between Stone Forsythe and Jason Peters.

The Seahawks have already confronted two of the most effective defenses within the NFL over the previous two weeks, and the schedule received’t let up beginning Thanksgiving towards the San Francisco 49ers. This workforce wants all of the reinforcements it may well get, and Lucas would (ideally) be a giant increase for this unit and the offense as an entire.
