Fred Kerley
Fred Kerley is the quickest man on the planet! He gained the 100m sprint, and I celebrated with a 100-yard pizza from Tracktown pizza! There was a disappointment for the impartial when Olympic champion, Marcell Lamont, pulled out by damage. To be honest, Lamont has struggled with damage all 12 months and would in all probability not have challenged Kerley.
For years, Jamaica dominated males’s sprinting – assume Usain Bolt, Asafa Powell, and many others. We are actually within the period of the USA with 4 Individuals within the ultimate, and all of the medals went to the USA. The end result was:
1 Fred Kerley 9.86
2 Marvin Bracy 9.88 (874)
3 Trayvon Bromell 9.88 (876)
Within the semi-finals, Indirect Seville was quickest at 9.93. With 4 males beneath 10 seconds and Kerley working 10.02, the ultimate appeared huge open however Kerley was protecting one of the best to the final. Andre de Grasse had gone out within the semi-final commenting: “It wasn’t my day immediately. My high pace wasn’t there. It wasn’t me. I’ve been preventing damage and sickness”.
Kerley mentioned after the ultimate: “It was superb! I opened with 9.99. My quickest time this 12 months is 9.72, and my slowest was 10.02 [in the semi-final] simply two hours earlier than. And I’ve nonetheless acquired the 200 which begins on Monday. After I run the 400, no one can outsprint me on the finish. It was superb to get to compete on dwelling soil with the group behind us.
“Monitor and Area have modified my life. Coming from the place I do, daily I get to run monitor is a blessing”.
Earlier within the 12 months, Fred mentioned to me: “Nobody on this world will break my confidence. I consider in myself, and that’s a tough man to beat.”. I believe he proved it within the 100 meters.
