Lomachenko vs. Kambosos, live streaming play-by-play updates

Tonight (Sat. Could 11, 2024), dwell from the RAC Enviornment in Perth, Australia, we’ve bought the IBF light-weight championship on the road as Vasiliy Lomachenko (17-3, 11 KO) takes on George Kambosos Jr. (21-2, 10 KO). This battle is the end result of three world titles on the road tonight, beginning at 10 p.m. ET. on ESPN and ESPN+.

Loma and Kambo have been in one another’s orbits for years, however because of circumstances contained in the ring (Vasyl shedding to Teofimo Lopez whereas George was the IBF obligatory) and out of doors of the ring (Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, resulting in Lomachenko preventing within the battle), this battle simply by no means materialized. Till now. Kambosos has scored one other massive title boxer to come back Down Below and battle an enormous battle on his house turf.

Kambosos is coming off a rebound win towards Maxi Hughes to assert the IBO light-weight title whereas Loma hasn’t fought in virtually a yr since his shut loss to Devin Haney as he failed to achieve the unified light-weight belts (these being the WBA (Tremendous), WBC, IBF, WBO, and The Ring titles). Pundits are choosing the Ukrainian to win fairly handily, as locations like DraftKings have him as a -700 favourite.

This shouldn’t come as an excessive amount of of a shock, as many view Kambosos to be a Jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none kind boxer. He’s not a knockout artist, he’s not tremendous fast or a defensive wizard. He’s an honest, pretty sound boxer. The issue is that until Father Time has caught as much as Lomachenko, it should take considerably extra than simply respectable fundamentals to topple the previous two-time Olympic gold medalist.

Additionally on the undercard are two extra gold belts up for grabs, together with Andrew Moloney (26-3 (1), 16 KO) taking over Pedro Guevara (40-3-1, 22 KO) for the WBC interim tremendous flyweight title. Lastly, champion Nina Hughes (6-0. 2 KO) seeks to make her second protection of the WBA bantamweight championship, this time towards Cherneka Johnson (15-2, 5 KO). Sure, the identical one who weighed in with body paint above the waist final yr.
