Curtis Blaydes has a way of keeping it real — even when dopey UFC fans can’t handle it.
The No. 4-ranked heavyweight title contender will rematch interim champion Tom Aspinall for the substitute strap within the UFC 304 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event, scheduled for Sat., July 27, 2024 at Co-op Stay in Manchester, England.
Assuming he can survive the “terrible” start times, adjusted to maintain UFC 304 on monitor with stateside clocks.
“That’s the concept, simply gonna should be vampires for a couple of week — I don’t know what to do,” Blaydes mentioned on The MMA Hour (transcribed by MMA News). “I don’t know what we’re gonna be doing at like one within the morning, as a result of the town’s gonna be sleeping. That half we’re nonetheless engaged on; what we’re gonna do as like, distractions. However the plan is to be vampires that week.”
Looks as if every thing related to the Manchester card has been done terribly.
“I’m very shocked, it’s nearly like a slight,” Blaydes continued. “Like, you guys, you don’t respect Leon and Tom sufficient to present them a standard title struggle state of affairs? I don’t assume they’d do that to (Conor) McGregor. There’s no means they’d do that to McGregor or (Charles) Oliveira. There are particular guys they wouldn’t do that to. I feel it’s just a bit bit disrespectful. I do know they don’t give a rattling about me, however I’m speaking about Aspinall and Leon (Edwards). You’ll assume they might have earned sufficient respect to get like, a standard struggle week. Apparently not.”
Not less than they don’t have to fret in regards to the enviornment malfunctioning … oh wait.
UFC 304 will likely be headlined by the welterweight title struggle (and 170-pound rematch) between present division champion Leon Edwards and longtime rival Belal Muhammad. Elsewhere on the cardboard, Paddy Pimblett returns to uncrown light-weight “King” Bobby Inexperienced.
