Canton wasn’t on Julius Peppers’ radar, even at his zenith

Julius Peppers was inducted into the Professional Soccer Corridor of Fame on Saturday, taking his rightful place alongside the remainder of the sport’s immortals. Nevertheless, Canton was largely an afterthought for many of his 17-year profession.

“It by no means crossed my thoughts. It is not why I performed the sport,” Peppers recently told Sirus XM Radio. “Even once I gained Rookie of the Yr—even once I began making Professional Bowls, All-Professionals, and issues like that—the Corridor of Fame was by no means on the radar.”

As Peppers started accumulating big-time statistics, although, speak of his Corridor of Fame-worthiness started to ramp up. Solely then did Peppers entertain the thought.

However regardless of ending his profession ranked fourth all-time in sacks (159.5) and tackles for loss (175), Peppers by no means embraced the opportunity of being a Corridor of Famer.

“I might at all times be like, ‘Yeah, possibly, I do not know,'” Peppers mentioned. “However I by no means dreamed that something like this is able to occur.”
