Coming off of a robust rehab start with the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Tuesday evening, three-time Cy Younger award winner Max Scherzer could also be making his manner again to a significant league diamond this weekend. Scherzer completed his outing Tuesday with two runs allowed over 3 1/3 innings pitched and racked up six strikeouts.
The New York Mets‘ marquee offseason acquisition has been sidelined for over a month with an indirect pressure. Scherzer is 5-1 with a 2.54 ERA and 0.95 WHIP via 49 2/3 innings pitched masking eight begins in 2022.
Scherzer signed a three-year, $130 million contract with the Mets in December 2021.
